Tools to Keep in Touch with your Dinnerware or China Patterns

We are here to help!

Whether you’ve just received new dinnerware as a wedding gift, bought new china for yourself, or have had the same tableware for 30 years, it’s important that you stay in touch with your pattern online. You’ll get information about new items in your pattern, or, if you have a discontinued pattern, information on any items that become available online. In addition, as content creators share images and more on Tablescape Thursday, you may even get to see someone else’s tablescape with your pattern!

Straight to the Source

Register your pattern with the manufacturer! Most major dinnerware manufacturers offer the chance to register your pattern with them, and most of the time, your registration comes with some sort of benefit for future purchases should an item need replacing. In addition, you may be able to register for email updates with information on sales and specials, which can be a particularly helpful tool when you’re working on completing your dinnerware collection. You can register a Noritake pattern here when you create an account on NoritakeChina.com.

Google Alerts

Google Alerts is a fantastic tool for tracking any topic you’d like to hear about online, and your china pattern is no exception. Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web results, news, etc.) based on your choice of query or topic.

Enter the topic you wish to monitor, and you can see a preview generated at the bottom showing what you might receive. Google Alerts lets you personalize your delivery options with variables in timing, language, and the sources.

Brand and pattern name in different combinations may impact your results, so you may want to create a result for some variations in your pattern name. For example, creating an alert for "Colorwave Yellow" and also "Color Wave Yellow" should provide maximum results on anything posted about this dinnerware pattern.

Remember that you can have more than one alert in place, so you can have alerts for your formal pattern, your casual pattern, and your favorite celebrity. This tool has many options beyond just your china patterns!

Replacements.com

We’ve recommended connecting with Replacements.com to many of our customers in the past—this is our first suggested site to check if you’re looking for items in a discontinued pattern.

As you can see in the image, in the "find this for me" section of Replacements.com, you can sign up for their pattern information tool. They will email you when items become available in your pattern.

In the past, we have had comments on our Facebook page that Replacements.com sometimes offers items not intended for the US market, so if you’re shopping in the US, you may even get access to items otherwise not readily accessible/available.

eBay Saved Searches

eBay is another great option for finding items in a pattern that has been discontinued – or even to find hard-to-stock items in an active pattern. A good way to stay abreast of anything that pops up is to create a saved search within eBay so that you’re notified if your pattern name comes up in a new auction. When logged in to your eBay account (accounts are free), you can sign up for notifications.

Use the search bar to check for items in your desired dinnerware pattern, and click the heart next to "save this search" to save the search—you will receive email alerts when new matching listings are created on eBay.

Etsy Searches

Many thrift/vintage sellers are very active through Etsy shops. At the time of this post, there are over 22,000 results for Noritake on the site—many of which are hard-to-find items in vintage or antique patterns. No matter which brand your dinnerware is from, it’s worth searching Etsy to see what you can find.

You can also save a specific search in Etsy by clicking the heart right above the search results to save that search with your Etsy account.
